Summary

Talent. It’s crucial to business growth and economic progress. It is the greatest resource any organization or country could possibly have yet we are failing to retain and engage it. And now more than ever, companies are turning to associations to help them find and keep it.

But what if we could create organizations capable of engaging the talent of younger generations? What if there was a way to put an end to the workforce crisis? And what if associations are key to achieving this?

This webinar will feature findings released in Sarah Sladek's latest book, which delves into what's causing the workforce crisis and outlines the business and economic strategies needed to solve it. Drawing from workforce and talent development research, as well as conducting her own research with notable economic, business, nonprofit, and government sources, Sladek pinpoints how current talent practices are causing talent to disengage, while also having a negative effect on productivity and profitability.

Presenter:  Sarah Sladek

Concerned about declining engagement in our nation’s membership associations, non-profits, and workplaces, Sarah Sladek founded XYZ University, the nation’s first and only generations-focused training and engagement strategy company, in 2002.

She is the author of several research papers on the generational topic and four books including The End of Membership As We Know It (Association Management Press, 2011) and Knowing Y (Association Management Press, 2014).

In addition to being an author, Sarah is the founder of the RockStars@Work Conference, the nation’s first business conference focused on bridging talent and leadership gaps in the workforce, and co-founder and producer of Millennials to Members, the first online course designed to help associations develop a future-focused membership strategy.

Sarah’s expertise has been prominently featured in international media including Forbes, Fast Company, and National Public Radio, and she has keynoted events worldwide. Backed by years of experience and supported by solid research, she remains committed to helping organizations engage every generation to thrive and prosper in the new economy.
