Judging Criteria for ne/sae Awards
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you were not selected as a recipient this year, you will be asked next year
if your materials may be reconsidered for the same award (if your eligibility is the same). Since only
one person can be selected each year, this practice allows us to reconsider many of the exceptional
candidates that are nominated. ne/sae will keep your form on file and you can update it upon
request.
Associate Member Service Award
ne/sae awards are judged using the following system. Please note that the information you provide on
the form is all the committee rates. The nominee application form focuses on four key areas:
|
Achievements in the last ten years of career |
|
Contributions to ne/sae |
|
Contributions to ASAE and related organizations |
|
Positions of leadership in civic and community organizations |
Judges score each key area on a 0 to 3 scale (3 = superior, 2 = above average, 1 = average, 0 = below
average), and then those scores are multiplied according to the following scale:
|
Achievements in last ten years of career = 6 times the 0-3 score (e.g., a score of 2 x 6 - 12 points for this key area) |
|
Contributions to ne/sae = 4 times the 0-3 score |
|
Contributions to ASAE and related organizations = 2 times the 0-3 score |
|
Positions of leadership in civic and community organizations = 2 times the 0-3 score |
|
Plus, two additional points for the CAE or industry designation |
The judges review the application forms, score the categories as described above, then fax their score
sheet to ne/sae. The staff totals all of the judges' responses. The judges then meet in person to review
the totals. Only in rare circumstances has the highest point recipient not been officially selected as the
award recipient. If scores are extremely close, the judges may elect to present more than one award.
Judges routinely abstain from judging awards in which a conflict of interest exists (e.g., an employee is
nominated, etc.).
